The right and left have their extreme elements, sort of a fighting for messaging control. The Republican party at the state level in lots of places is being taken over by the sort of election denier Q and on kind of people. And it chases out the normals and then makes it easier for the place to become even more abnormal. Like, you'd rather have a pure common section where you can talk about your craziness freely than actually have to deal with people who share a lot of your values, but don't want to hear that stuff.
