The Path From Basic Research to Commercial Product

The story of how something went from basic research, or early m h c i research, too, a product that's in the hands of end users is not well understood or wellor written down anywhere. One way we can maybe make this concrete is to describe the path from os, say, the lab, to commercial product. Andif i've struggled to find full stories on this, in many cases, i think this is something that happens behind closed doors a little bit.
