Moses Annenberg was convicted of tax evasion and died in federal prison. His father, Moses Annenberg, Moish, owned the racing form, the Bible of horse racing in the United States. So Walter wanted to be a gentleman. Philadelphia Society did not recognize him as such. He was a Jew. But his father was a crooked bookie, and he was a jerk. In 1972, in consideration of a totally illegal $250,000 cash contribution to the committee to collect the president of the United States, Richard M. Nixon, Walter Annenberg was appointed ambassador to the court of St. James's in London. Nice.
