The last time i discussed the ancestors of the latin speakers was back an episode 11, and i discussed the early expansion of the indo european tribes into europe. Now, as you may recall from that episode, the carpathian mountains form a wedge shape on the western side of the black sea. As a result, that mountain range tended to force westward moving tribes either northwestward along the northern side of the pathians, or southwestward along the southern side in the danube valley. And it's believed that the relatives of the celtic speaking tribes migrated from this region in the vicinity of modern hungary. From there they migrated northward into central europe,
