At the time, cold was used to test new features in a production environment. But it could not be fully tested for quality or performance before release. The team at Godsssi decided to try and solve this problem with their own code base. They created an open-source framework that would let applications decide what feature should go into production. It is now being trialled as part of Google's Cloud Next program.
