What Happened to Haka Women in 1921?
19 18 anti chinese riots only lasted a few days, but usually that's all it takes. In saint catherine parish alone, there were 452 arrests and a a few hundred convictions. The next years, in 19 22 and 23, another 497 and 559 chinese arrived bringing the population up to around four thousand. They may have made perhaps one % of the jamaican population, maybe less than that even,. But 28 % of the business licenses were held by chinese bosses.
