The Influence of Polyclitis on Late Classical Art and Architecture
Polyclitis' school lasted for at least three generations, but it seems to have been most active in the late fourth and early third centuries BC. Scopus and Lysippus are among his best known successors. Although Phidius' school didn't last nearly as long as that of Polyclitis, his workshop at Olympia included such esteemed pupils as Ego Arcritus, Alkaminis, and Peionius. Cressilus also has been identified as the originator of the type of Athena statues in which she would wear a Corinthian helmet - mirroring the bust of Heracles.
