Introduction

The production code administration was a body of censors who veted every film produced in hollywood or nation wide distribution ambitions between 19 34 and the mid 19 sixties. The code by which these censors evaluated finished films became known as the hayes code, named after will h hayes, the so called czar who had been hired in early 19 23 to help the industry get back on its feet after loads of post scandal bad press.
