The Importance of Rationality in Human Persons

The human organism just by definition is a rational animal. It never has to hit a particular stage in its development, it just is as soon as it comes into being arational animal. What we then see is how the rational capabilities are fleshed out or actualized. And so and then it's also the case that even if they are able to start actualizing some of the rationality, it's not like it doesn't have to be really high degree of rationality either. So on my view, when people say, Oh, well, human persons are rational animals, well, that means then if that if they ever fail to actualize this property, then they cease to be human persons
