The Practice of Forensic Architecture

The face is a focal point within the worker forensic architecture, and it brings some of these really important issues that we've talked about relating to evidence. The identification of Mengele skull is what's particularly important in the vitamin and Keenan book. And this took place through an imaging process which itself can't be entirely separated from aesthetic concerns. It's impossible to look at those images without thinking about prior representations on film times. There are sort of horror film vibe. So, the forensic aesthetic is a hybrid object or hybrid idea, and one that we have to do some quite complex work with in order to tease out its implications.
