The human brain is about 10% smaller than it was 10,000 years ago. How could that possibly be a favorable evolutionary outcome? One of the arguments is that we've become increasingly reliant on external prostheses to augment our brain capabilities. So for example, working with numbers or having reliable records in order to make transactions. We're just not very good at that.
