The Governor of the Bahamas Is Out to Get Him
The governor of the Bahamas has been out to get him ever since Freddy was heard making insulting remarks about him in public. Edward became king on the death of his father, George V, in January 1936. He reigned for just 11 months, giving up the throne in December that same year when his brother George VI took over. The purported reason he gave up his crown was to be with an American, the divorcee Wallace Simpson.
