In the first century, in jesus time, there was a unique cultural moment were rome really and to this day. For example, chrysostom, the bishop of constantinople, encouraged all o his church to go and work this into their home and into their life. Now, this practice came to be called the christ room as recently as last telast century. It was what inspired dorothy day and the catholic worker movement to start their infamous houses of hospitality.
