Two Republicans crossed party lines to move a bill out of a state house committee to raise the age for buying semi-automatic weapons from 18 to 21. The vote came on the last possible day to act and after committee members kept Uvalde families waiting 13 hours to testify. A law enforcement source tells CNN the 33 year old gunman served three months in the U.S. Army and did not complete basic training but was removed because of mental health concerns.
