Sally Kohn: I've always been very, very sensitive to hormones. My mom put me on birth control pill at 16 for my periods. She had mercury in her system as well as like off the charts lead. When she was pregnant, your bones soften, lead is stored in the bones and it leeches out of the system. That's a huge one. Heavy metals will actually clog up your receptors. Your body looks like it has normal levels of hormones, but your body is unable to utilize them. So we're seeing this is not uncommon.
