The likeliest outcome here is russia installing a pupet government in ukraine and winning. But then we get into another possibility, which is a ucranian insurgency. This could be devastating to the russians as they try to trap them in there for years. I believe that it will likely vanquish ukraine on the field of battle, and in a conventional struggle. Whether they can hold is a separate question.
