The Role of Race in the Prevalence of Lupus
Lupus is one of the top 20 leading causes of death for females age 15 to 44. People with multiple X chromosomes are at significantly higher risk than people with a single X chromosome in general. The mortality attributed to lupus is actually very substantial, though the World Health Organization has some estimates on like standardized mortality rates across the globe.
