The Secret Entry to the Tomb
The tomb of King Tutankhamun opened on November 26, 1922. It is unclear whether Carter and his friends entered the monument or simply peered through the hole. If you think Carter and his colleagues snuck into the chamber on that first day, then the excavation becomes slightly more sketchy. Either way, the following day would be the official opening of the tomb.

Overlooked for three thousand years, the tomb finally emerged thanks to a persistent excavator and a stroke of good fortune. However, the Tomb of Tutankhamun has built up its own mythology.
