I would prefer that people start thinking instead in terms of the older doctrine of creating a communion of saints. I'm always amazed when someone who's been an ally for many years tells me they're still banking at JPMorgan Chase. If you support the dark side, if you give the dark side energy, why do you think you can get it out of your life? You can't.
