Analgesia May Speed Up the First Stage of Labor
The second stage of labor actually increases by 15 to 20 minutes in women who use anorexial anesthetic. The ACOG doesn't have a time frame that after you're in the second stage for this amount of time, you get a more invasive delivery plan. For example, if a woman is laboring and needs something like low forceps and you have an epidural, it might be an actually more favorable scenario to be in instead of needing forceps. And then that's playing the yes category in present-profit management deliveries.
