Wind tunnels are long rectangular rooms with a huge fan at one end. In the middle of that room is a model F1 car, which is fixed and doesn't move. To simulate high speeds, the fan spins and blows air across the model car. And underneath the car, there's a conveyor belt or like a rolling road,. Which moves those tires, creating the effect of the car being on a real racetrack.
