Antitrust

In 80, ragan is elected. He gives the anti trust division to a gind ame bill baxter who says, it's not that they like eliminate the law. They don't repeal the law. But when the economist comes and says, oh, well, you know, this looks efficient to me, then they were as they would say, well, since it's the law, the anti trust law is based on efficiency. And so they read economics into the statute, even though it wasn't there, and got rid of most anti trust enforce around mergers. It was an intellectual revolution.
