The Evolution of Trespass Laws
All of the laws that were used to keep us out of the land started with laws targeted at gypsy minorities in this country. Henry VIII brought in laws to deal with what he called the Egyptians at the time, referring to gypsy people. That was the beginning of policies of enclosure and exclusion from 16th century onwards. The police crime and sentencing bill ended up targeting the GRT community because it's about intent to reside with six or more vehicles. So deeply racist, bit of legislation.
