Matthew Raffles: The Founder and First President of London Zoo
Raffles Zoo is the world's first scientific zoo. It has 140 scientists doing conservation biology, studying zoonotic health. We've got a network of conservation projects around the world and we're working in almost 70 countries. His colleagues back in London would spend quite a lot of time when he was overseas plotting to get rid of him. But there's something about his extraordinary determination, absolute single-mindedness to achieve whatever it was that he was trying to achieve,. That I quite respect.
