The Centrality of Growth in Politics
There's this belief which seems to have lingered around economists for a long time that are, well, economic growth. It's unequal in the short run, but in the long term, actually, it tends towards kind of, you know, rising tide lifts all boats and all that sort of thing. So this is this, this seems to be quite a significant change. This suggests to me that everything we're thinking about growth or the centrality of growth to politics as it's conducted today is really a very, very recent phenomenon.
