The Role of Connectionalism in Solo Pastors
Solo pastors often have people in the church who maybe patriarch or matriarchs. There's a lot of complex relational dynamics that are there. I think we see this in the scripture talking about the optrophes who likes to be first among them. A lot of times those people are godly people but over the years, they've gained the measure of control and the measure of power. And it's difficult for them to release that control and power to anyone else - particularly a solo pastor.
