Did Machine Learning Lead to a PhD in Machine Learning?
In high school I was super interested in neuroscience particularly in consciousness and drugs. In 2012 a guy that was doing a postdoc in Princeton with Madeline Phoenix the deep mind lab in neuroscience decided to do a short course on reinforcement learning. reinforcement learning was actually the first thing I learned in machine learning. It uses the kind of math that I like like probability theory analysis and dynamic and system sort of stuff so yeah that's kind of how it worked for me.
