How Do You Write a Novel?

I know you mentioned in this book, i think one of your novels took you about nine years to write. I find sometimes that mood can affect, you know, how you write. Maybe you come to the page as you sait excited about the story one day, and you think it's crabped the next. So thereare a lots of elements to play into these spaces, recognizing them. It feels like the first step, as we can think about them and maybe use them to our own advantage in a narrative.
