The Lord Is My Rock, My Fortress, My Deliverer

David spoke these words on the day when the Lord delivered him. This is all about the deliverance, the salvation, the redemption which God works for David. And this kind of heaping of images is not unusual in the rest of biblical poetry. We're starting out here with all of these various, some more abstract, but many of them very concrete images for how God as the deliverr actually brings us about.
