The History of Manoan by Arthur Evans
In 1897, civil war broke out on Crete and Arthur Evans went back to England. He negotiated with the new Crete administration who gave him permission to dig. Almost immediately a great complex elaborate was revealed - like nothing seen before. The word 'Manoan' comes from Minos, an mythical king of Crete in ancient works.
