Ean fleming wrote the James Bond books as a thrillers for an adolescent. His wife and her friends scoffed at them when they were first published. But Fleming never grew up, so he was right person at the right time for these books. The sun is always shining in my books, which minutely lifts the spirit of the english reader. Exotic locales are interesting and pleasurable. They take the reader to exciting places around the world. And the women too. All that contrasts with the grimness of bon's sometimes distasteful tasks,. killing and fights and torture and so on. Those are thrilling, but dark and dour.
