I understand you had some input into the policy that determined the beginning of the Iraq War. What was it that caused you to start reflecting on tragedy, on a literary form in light of all that? Was that something that was always in the back of your mind, this quite abstract way of thinking about tyranny and chaos and order? Or was it something that you spoke up on?Yeah, I think that the ability to get Iraq right was the ability to think tragically. And thinking tragically is not what it seems to be. It's tragedy is not about common misfortune, it's not about normal mistakes in life or that's the normal order rule of life.
