The Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven

Matthew does not present Peter in his gospel as the rock on which the church is built, but he does present Christ as having the pretense of being the rock. So it seems to me from Matthew's gospel, the best candidate for that is Jesus' own teachings. His words that he brings to people are what open the kingdom of heaven to those who accept them and what close them to those who reject them. When Jesus tells Peter, I will give you the keys of the kingdom of Heaven, he means Petra or Ekklesia. The gates of Hades are not going to prevail against him because he will rise from the dead.
