This is part three in a trilogy of episodes on attila the hun. We looked at stories surrounding his rise as the sole ruler of the hunnick empire. This included the suspicious death of his brother and co ruler, bleda while on a hunting trip. Then we dove into an account originally created by the roman historian pris s that detailed his trip to attila's court in four forty nine a d. That account detailed a failed assassination attempt orchestrated by a court eunuch back in constantinople. But it's perhaps most interesting for what it tells us about attila's personality. He doesn't really come off as a capricious, bloodthirsty barbarian.
