The notion of humanity is just crushingly, crushingly sad to me. I think it's almost impossible to create a superintelligence agent that can destroy human civilization without it being conscious. In terms of whether such a creation would have to be conscious, let's say, I'm not so sure. There's something that passes the Turing test could over text-based interaction in any of that.
