Thomas Kuhn Lecture: Objectivity, Value Judgment, and Theory Choice (1973)

Clerestory (Bryan Kam)

CHAPTER

Introduction

i'm going to read a lecture in its entirety thomas coone gave on the question of objectivity in 19 73. Kon wrote a book, which i have referred to before, called the structure of scientific revolutions in 19 62. He argues that science is not as orderly as it may appear. But through tit, he deliberately avoids using the term truth. And at the end of the book, he says, you'll notice that although we've been talking about science this whole time, i have never used the word truth, except in one quote from francis bacon.
