Katuginsky was orphaned very young and raised by relatives. He became immediately involved in the cultural life in the ghetto. The remaining ghettos of narzi europe were soon to be destroyed, but not without a fight. April 19 forty three saw the largest uprising by jews against the narzes. As fighters inside the war saw ghetto attempted to hold off the german forces. It spurred the creation of perhaps the most famous partisan song of the holocaust.
