The Submerged Half of China

Mabel Lee is an example of this new age of people coming up in a contrast to the tradition of what her mom supposedly represented. She wrote a speech called China's Submerged Half, which I just love that name for some reason. It implies that we're starting from a negative space. But she flips that one in its head where it's like, okay, we're submerged, but we're working with so much. There is vengeance that's happening.
