What Is a Contingency Being?

A contingent being is something that exists, otherwise it wouldn't be a being. The term doesn't mean what you normally think it does, especially if you're accustomed to thinking in terms of modal logic. So contingency doesn't necessarily mean beginning in time. Many things around us are contingent in the sense of the term.
