The Difference Between Patriotism and Nationalism

Nationalism is exclusionary. While patriotism means you have pride in your country, it doesn't mean that you think or believe your country is superior to other nations. Facist regimes in the 19 thirties and 19 forties mixed ideas of nationalism with ideas of ethnic and cultural superiority. In modern usage, nationalism tends be used to describe the political movements of brexet, donald trump and other leaders around the world.
