Neil Gaiman: Snow White is supposed to represent the ideal young feminine beauty standard. The older Queen, stepmother, she's not just older, but she's actually a lot smarter,. She's powerful. And so it's a really clear contrast there between this like young, innocent, naive, sweet girl with Snow White and then the much more powerful, much more intelligent woman in the Queen.
