Are We Simulations of People?

Ellen asks Hank and John if we are all simulations of people, rather than actual people. Does this mean that my choices matter less because they aren't real? Do you have any advice for how to feel about possibly being a simulation of the person i thought I was? johna is worrying quite a lot about it right now due to a book he's reading. It's hard not to worry about the problem is that it's just not particularly useful to worry about. And i'm not sure that it's worth thinking about things we can't fix.
