Quantum Entanglement - The Hidden Variable
Einstein's big idea was to add another electron. What if you have two things and you know something about the pair of them? You know that they have to have opposite spins. Maybe they come from the same source so they're constrained somehow. There's a connection between them so that if one of them is spin up, the other one has to be spin down. This is the idea of quantum entanglement.
