Franklin's Life and Times

In 1748, at age 42, Franklin retired and turned over the operation of his printing business to his foreman. The detailed partnership deal would leave him rich enough by most people's standards. It also provided him with half of the shops profits for the next 18 years. He left his print shop because he was eager to focus his undiminished ambition on other pursuits that beckoned. As poor Richard said in his almanac that year, lost time is never found again.
