If it comes down to a one-on-one race between Trump and the Sandis, then no, I don't think Trump does become the nominee. Republicans fatal flaw in 2016 was not coalescing around an anti-Trump candidate. If they all throw their energy and most importantly donor money and organization behind a single candidate, Trump has been significantly wounded.
