Why Reading Is So Powerful as You Age
Studies from china, tian and the us have all found that reading every day may be protective against dimentia. Research from yale university found that those who read for 30 minutes a day lived on an average 23 months longer than those who did not. The main benefit of reading has to do with building up our vocabulary ore verbal abilities. And what's interesting is that the association between reading and verbal abilities is strongest for narrative fiction. I think stories also help us to develop a better understanding of other people.
