Is Consciousness a Thing?

Lucas: The essential nature of consciousness can't be described because all our words have evolved to describe the content of consciousness. Lucas: We need to, you know, we need to agree with each other and with your listeners that by using the term consciousness or awareness, we're not implying that the reality we are referring to is some kind of a subtle object.
