The Role of CNN in Theft
A Walgreen store in San Francisco has the highest theft rate of all its 9,000 US stores. "The laws are there to protect the guilty, not the innocent at this point," says CNN's John Sutter. Businesses that would provide fresh food or reading materials go away when crime is so high they can't maintain profitability and have to lock up their goods behind plexiglass. The city needs to stop treating crimes as some kind of evil capitalist thing; it's a systemic issue with bias against people who don't want to be part of our society., he adds.
