The New Stadium Rock of the 80s

83 in particular it's when the new stadium rock that defines a lot of the 80s to come emerges. Big guitar music suddenly became derigga during that period and once more it kind of comes out of post-punk but it's not got many of the qualities of post-punks. The album is just this weird kind of queasy listening instrumental but it all works because it's his personality is so strong that he can put these seemingly disparate elements together and create something completely cohesive from beginning to end.
