The title of your book refers to the great escape that workers were thinking about in their minds when they left India. Ebby Raju and 500 other people thought this was not just a green card to come to America, but a way out of Indian society. The reason workers sold ancestral land or borrowed from violent loan sharks was because they thought it might be their one chance.
